MATCHSTICK COFFEE

Located adjacent a tiny triangular park at East 15th Avenue, Kingsway and Fraser Street, Matchstick Coffee serves delicious coffee made from beans roasted in Vancouver. Matchstick takes its coffee-making seriously and brews each cup individually to ensure that the beans come through fresh and full of flavour. The coffee is never stale, and never the same. If you're looking for something to nibble, check out the wall mounted menu or the glass case filled with sweet and savoury treats. The ingredients are locally sourced from organic farms whenever possible.

The interior space is bright with wood accents and clean white tiles. The large communal table is often packed with people getting their caffeine fix while studying hard for midterms or working on something trendy. On sunny days you can sit outside on the bench and watch people in the adjacent park. Like the interior design, the branding for matchstick has been carefully thought out and expertly delivered.  Local Artist Andrew Pommier drew the images for each of the coffee flavours Matchstick also supplies their beans to restraurants and breweries in Vancouver such as 33 Acres.
